Thanks! I just finished Rick Rubin’s book too, though didn’t love it as much as you. It was good, but I felt it would have benefited from more of his unique and specific stories of working with artists, or examples of how he applied these principles. It felt like a lot of platitudes, sometimes redundant.
I prefer Big Magic, which had a similar message, but with examples.
Though I loved the design and minimal, zen format of the book.
Adore Amsterdam too. Go everywhere you can! My favorite is the The Kröller-Müller Museum outside the city in the woods. It’s worth the day trip.
